As a Site Manager, you will be working within a highly experienced team responsible for:
- The successful delivery of a construction project on time, budget and to the required quality expected of all Read projects.
- Ensuring the achievement of all Health, Safety & Environment objectives
- Working collaboratively with the delivery team, especially with the design manager, project quantity surveyor & contracts manager.
- Promoting & upholding Read’s reputation for providing the highest standards.
- Promoting best practice throughout the construction process, developing good working relationships with all project Stakeholders.
Read are looking for highly skilled, experienced and enthusiastic individuals, with an ability to self-manage whilst working within a team. This is a site-based role for an experienced manager who excels at leading their team to delivering clients requirements and achieve contractual objectives.
Candidates must have experience managing a variety of project types over the value of £2m within the commercial sector. Be IT competent and hold a full UK driving licence.

- Experience managing Commercial Construction Projects as the number 1 Manager on site from start to completion
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and lead the site team to meet agreed targets with a positive can-do approach
- Strong planning, decision-making and communication skills
- Solid understanding of construction processes required to deliver projects from start through to handover stage
- A qualification aligned with the Site Manager role and certification that demonstrates competence in delivering the duties within this role
- Competent in using software packages such as Microsoft Office, Programming and other QA related tools
- Deliver the role with pride and always act with the highest level of integrity

CoreDuties
- Co-ordinate trades, sub-contractors & labour to ensure the programme is delivered on time and within budget. An understanding of project programming is essential to achieve production targets and ensure that deadlines are met.
- Develop a full understanding of all specifications, drawings, preliminaries, preambles and contract documentation, ensuring the project is delivered within these parameters.
- Ensure full compliance with all Health & Safety aspects.
- Manage on site administration, including all required site documentation, drawings & records. The completion of all statutory project reports, such as permits to work, inspection reports, event forms, risk assessments & method statements.
- Assist Senior Management in the allocation of onsite packages, and subsequently of establishing relationships with each subcontractor. Good commercial understanding is required. Support delivery team throughout procurement process.
- Assist the project to achieve its Environmental & Waste Management Plans, Community Benefits, BREEAM and BIM targets.
- Work closely with the client, consultants and delivery team to ensure project deliverables are achieved and quality standards upheld.
