A fundamental element of collaborative working is the earliest integration of key project stakeholders. Read promote early engagement through Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) arrangements where the Principal Contractor, Design Consultants and Key Supply Chain members are appointed sufficiently early during the design stage to add value to the progressing design. This benefits the project and Client Team from specialist input into whole life best value and optimised design solutions for an efficient build programme. Such arrangements facilitate early development of the project Cost Plan to market test the larger work packages and develop cost certainty, ensuring a right-first-time approach to design, reducing wasted effort and time in redesign of over budget project elements.

As well as winning the inaugural Constructing Excellence Wales (CEW) Collaboration Award for Integrated Supply Chain Development, Read have been awarded the CEW Digital Construction award and Net Zero Carbon awards on the basis of our collaborative approach to adoption of new requirements within the construction Industry. Key to all of these accomplishments has been our open approach to integrating new processes and the encouragement and shared learning with the broader project team.
