Summary:
Two separate contracts consecutively delivered within the live Wrexham Maelor Hospital campus. With a wealth of project delivery within sensitive environments, Read consistently exceed our clients expectations.
COLLABORATIVE – Both the CT Scanner and Pacing Theatre medical equipment was installed and commissioned by others under direct orders from the client. To ensure a snag free and seamless handover, Read engaged early with the installation contractors to ensure the planning, installation and commissioning were fully supported throughout. This resulted in the precision highly specialist equipment being commissioned on time and handover to a delighted client with no negative impact on the operational efficiency of the facility throughout the works.
ZERO HARM – Managed by a dedicated delivery team, the completion of these projects saw Read’s record exceed £17 million (558 weeks) of live environment working without accident or incident involving staff, visitors or patients. By effective planning of work activities and resource requirements, the disruption caused through distribution of materials, plant and equipment through live access routes was minimised with maximised working during out-of-hours periods.
I just wanted to drop you a short line to let you know how much of a pleasure it has been working with Paul Kelly and Steve Webster over the past few months. During our projects (Pacing / Radiology re-development and installation of the second CT scanner) in Radiology, working together with my staff to help minimise any disruptions to our service. It’s been a pleasure to work alongside Paul over the past few weeks, as we have caught up with each other on a daily basis. You have an excellent team (including Mark and Gareth), and I hope to have the opportunity to work with them again in the future.

Read’s proactive and collaborative management along with contribution to design development enabled the works to be completed to a challenging programme. At all times, the projects were fully resourced. No health and safety issues arose.
Programming and interface has been excellent with effective communication throughout.
