Summary:
Design and Construction of a new purpose built, modern two storey £5m health centre with Betsi Cadwaldr University Health Board.
CONSISTENT DELIVERY – Having completed a similar D&B new build Health Centre 12 months earlier for the same client, Read secured this project deploying the same management team and design partners. The shared learning from the previous scheme added value to the client through supply chain and design efficiencies that resulted in on time, on budget completion.
COLLABORATIVE – Located in the middle of Flint town centre, the site was constrained by the adjacent new Extra Care facility construction and a major town centre housing improvement scheme. Close liaison, regular engagement and considerate traffic management was required to prevent disruption to local businesses and homeowners resulting in ZERO complaints from the local community.
LOCAL DELIVERY – Local operatives, management , suppliers, subcontractors and design consultants were engaged to design, specify and deliver a truly local project, maximising the local re-investment in the local economy. 83% of the project value was spent locally, supporting Welsh Governments Agenda to maximise the value of the Welsh Pound.
Overall another project successfully completed for the local health board. Read Construction’s approach to the construction of the new health centre was both positive and professional. I would have no hesitation in recommending Read Construction for future projects.
Take a look at the work we do.
The Health Board and Read Construction have worked well in partnership together to produce this facility. It has cost £5m funded by Welsh Government and it will be officially opened in the summer. The building is 2,600 square feet and will have two surgeries, a dental surgery and mental health team. This is not just replacing what was already there in community services, it is far more for Flint and the wider community.
