CAPABLE – Raising the roof of the existing hotel whilst the remaining hotel remained open to paying guests was a challenge in itself. Added to the complexity, was the clients requirement to undertake the works out of season – over the winter months! Effective protection measures together with collaborative planning and work sequencing ensure the construction works had minimal impact on the ongoing operation of the hotel.
QUALITY – By engaging local supply chain partners with an inherent interest in the quality and reputation for the area and their respective organisations, the clients key quality deliverables were met or exceeded in some instances. Samples were offered and provided for key finish items with agreement of quality expectations based on mocked up section of work.
HISTORIC – For the first time in St George’s 162-year history, a completely new space was created with the construction of five NEW luxury Rooftop Bedrooms. Guests can now experience St George’s Hotel from the comfort of Deluxe Sea-View Rooms with Balcony offering you panoramic views of the Llandudno Seascape, from the highest point of the hotel – the rooftops. These sumptuous rooms feature everything needed for a relaxing and luxurious stay at one of the best hotels in the whole of Wales.
Take a look at the work we do.
This was the first time I had come across Phil, and I found him to be a good, friendly, communicator from the start of the project on site. Good communication and a non-adversarial approach are always important on any project, and particularly on an alteration project on an existing, occupied, busy building as this Hotel certainly was. I believe Phil appreciated the need for this approach throughout this project.
Inevitably there was some time pressure on the job, with some difficult periods. There was a lot of construction detail to cope with, and one or two instances where some executed work had to be altered/corrected, but these were dealt with properly and effectively. Phil and his team put in a lot of effort to keep the momentum going, giving a lot of attention to detail, and delivered an excellent scheme in good time. I would welcome the opportunity to work with Phil in the future.
