Summary:
Delivered within the heart of the Zoo, the £2.8m Madagascar development saw the construction of new Lemur and Fossa enclosures with a walkthrough experience as part of the attraction.
COLLABORATIVE – Located centrally within the Zoo campus, within the monorail loop, the project presented significant logistical challenegs. Access to and from the site was carefully controlled and restricted to times when the zoo was closed to the puiblic. Working with such restrictions, Read demonstarted effective site and supply chain management to complete the project without incident.
RELATIONSHIPS – Our team’s ability, skills and experience in managing risk has delivered many successful projects with Chester Zoo. This relationship has nurtured an open and flexible method of communicating and reviewing project performance – allowing flexibility during construction and open discussions to resolve issues.
CONSIDERATE – To protect Zoo staff, visitors and members of the public Read erected solid hoarding around the site. This not only protected people from injury, but also maintained a positive image of the Zoo during construction.This resulted in ZERO accidents / incidents involving the public and ZERO complaints received.
