Summary:
Procured by Wrexham County Borough Council through the North Wales Construction Partnership, this scheme comprises the alterations, extension and refurbishment of a sheltered housing facility in Wrexham.
This 22nr apartment project forms part of Wrexham Council’s long term strategy to provide modern, high quality, low maintenance and affordable housing to over 55’s who require a professional support service available on hand when needed. At an average of 57m2 per apartment, across a mix of one and two bedroom accommodation, the apartments have light open plan kitchen / dining / living area with a communal lounge for social events and staff / admin areas for support staff.
As the fourth project (separately procured and awarded to Read) in a planned modernisation programme across the council estate, lessons have been learnt from the Read’s schemes that has benefited the Maes y Capel project. By maintaining a common supply chain across the projects, efficiencies have been achieved that have ensured high quality finishes.
