Leading the way for BIM delivery in North Wales

Read Construction is leading the way for building information modelling (BIM) in construction by investing in their employees.

Darren Brimble, Design Manager for Read Construction, has recently gained his BIM Level 2 Certified Practitioner status through the BRE Group. After undertaking training with the BRE and completing an audit of his BIM Level 2 skills and knowledge, Darren has become the first Certificated Practitioner based in a North Wales SME and is one of only 48 in the world to gain the accreditation.

The certification demonstrates the company’s ongoing dedication to improving BIM Level 2 project delivery in North Wales, with Darren now able to fully support colleagues, clients and the supply chain with their BIM commitment.

Alex Read, Director commented, “This new accreditation for Darren further strengthens Read’s commitment to delivering a fully compliant BIM service to our clients. From our initial scheme with Flintshire Council which was hailed a Construction Excellence Wales BIM pilot project, to this recent certification, Read’s dedication to championing technological advances in North Wales continues to grow.”

Read Construction believe a strong supply chain and well-informed clients are key to the BIM process. As part of their commitment, the company plan to host several workshops soon. The workshops will offer an insight into BIM Level 2 project delivery and the importance of client and supply chain involvement.
