Summary:
Conversion and refurbishment of former 8 story RBS office block to form new 5 star, 87 bedroom extension to the existing Queen Hotel in Chester, making it the largest hotel in Cheshire.
LIAISON – All fit out works were completed within the contract period. Working in close proximity to the hotel whilst it remained operational realised significant challenges, which were overcome through close liaison with the hotel client team and detailed construction programming.
CITY CENTRE – The city centre location presented significant access, logistic, storage and parking issues. Constrained on one side by the existing hotel and adjacent to a busy main road network, the planning for deliveries was controlled through daily site briefings and strict access restrictions. Loading out via materials hoist to upper levels was undertaken on arrival to ensure site congestion was reduced.
