Summary:
Design and Build project, awarded through the North Wales Construction Framework for the extension to the live Secondary School in Wrexham.
Joint funded by the 21st Century Schools Programme and Wrexham Council, the works involved the construction of a new main entrance extension to the existing 3 storey admin block and internal alterations.
COLLABORATION – Delivered as part of a bundle of schemes, the Read team worked collaboratively with the client and design team to resolve early buildability and budget issues – redesigning the originally tendered scheme to deliver a scheme that achieved all the original project requirements.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT – Throughout the scheme Read supported numerous career support events with the school – including mock interviews, career insight days and maths in the workplace workshops. By engaging with the school in this way, Read ensured staff and pupils were kept up to date with the latest construction news, whilst advertising the industry as a potential career path.
